Ivana. Portrait and Nude in the Studio

We know each other since several years and made many pictures which are important to both of us. We worked on the topics cinema light, portraits, classical nudes and light paintings.

I used two classical Dedolights DLH4 with 150W tungsten bulbs, for the light paintings a Dedolight Ledzilla LED with 8W. For the classical nudes I used my new grid for the Elinchrom Quadra Lightbank for the first time and was very satisfied with the result. The backgrounds are self-made on canvas - not easy but worthwhile.

Most pictures were taken with the Fujifilm GFX 50s and the lenses 4/32-64 and 2/110. Camera and lenses provide superb results. However, with the slow lens and the dim pilot light of the softbox with grid the camera has siginificant difficulties to show the picture in the viewfinder without dragging. A quick response to moving objects is hardly possible this way, also because the camera has a somewhat sluggish release. In both regards, the smaller X-T2 outperforms the GFX 50s. Although the classical nudes look static, they are not. I often work with the spontaneous movements with such pictures.

The light paintings were made with the Fujifilm X-T2 and the 1.4/35, the Polaroids with a Polaroid 250 and Fujifilm FP-3000B.
